ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION

Advocating Change

Golden  Charity Uganda is a registered non government organization founded in early  2019 working on issues of HIV / Aids , Education And Sponsorship , mestrual health in it's early stages , safe water and sanitation (WASH) , supporting grandmothers , life skills training , Bible study  , drug abuse and food relief 
Golden Charity  Uganda has since spread it's wings to other parts of the country and have engaged the youth more especially in post primary and secondary School students on pertinent issues  through partnerships with local churches , local council committee , sponsors , fundraisers  and donors

EDUCATION AND SPONSORSHIP 

Sponsoring a child's education is $14 a month.    Our education programme offers holistic education sponsorship for program to vulnerable children in rural communities of kassanda from pre-primary to tertiary institutions.
The beneficiaries are usually recommended by the local communities of social workers and educationalists who ensure the services are extended to the need of neediest.
Although priority is given to total and partial orphans  , non orphans from families that prove to be economically struggling are often considered for the programme. Those in primary section are placed in schools that are easy for the project staff to monitor there children's attendance and performance.

WHAT YOUR DONATION DOES

Your generous donation is used to change the life of a disadvantaged child to more preferred status for the status of the rest of his/her life through paying school fees to a decent school , provide basic education materials including a pair of school going shoes , math equipments  and school writing materials . In addition ,the donation helps to provide a light meal for the child while at school to ensure they don't learn on an empty stomach and monitor children's performance and well being through school visits .  
The fact many of our sponsored children are selected from families with very small sources of income , accessing quality medical care is one of the most challenging issues . This often affects class attendance resulting to poor performance . We therefore thank our mile to generously contribute towards our medical services to  our beneficiaries and ensure that they attend school regularly.

SUPPORT A GRANDMOTHER

Sponsoring a grandmother is $14 a month.
We support grandmothers with quarterly upkeep. Some of them have used it to  clear medical bills , food, growing food  and others started piggery projects . The aim is to help them start income generating bussinnesses which will facilitate their welfare especially now that they have aged and have families to take care of which are composed of grandchildren on top of their medical dues.   Most of these grandmothers are widows hence they are the heads of their families . They are always so thankful for the generous 💓 of their sponsors

MENSTRUAL HYGIENE

Many girls in Uganga are dropping out of school after being laughed at at school by fellows due to lack of sanitary towels.  Therefore we as Golden charity started this program to reduce on this effect.A packet of 4 sanitary pads costs $2 .  
Help girls not miss school due to fear of mestrual hygiene through giving them free sanitary towels .
We also train  local women how to make  disposable pads in our life skills training program .

STORY OF UNDEPREVILEDGED IN UGANDA


There are over 2,500,000 orphaned children in Uganda.

All children need a home. Kassandq District of Uganda has over 16,000 orphaned children.Fatherless homes.


Many children grow up in single-parent, generally fatherless homes. This requires the mother to work all day just to put food on the table. With the average motherhood rate being 5.1 children per mother, there is often not enough money to support all of the children. This leads to widespread child abandonment, neglect and abuse.

Alcohol abuse.


Uganda is one of the drunkest countries in the world. This alcohol abuse is spurred on by home-brewed moonshine called waragi. Many adults drink every night, leading to neglect of children, the inability to hold a job, and rampant fatherlessness in households.

Lack of medical care.

Many children are born with medical conditions, or they are developed due to lack of proper nutrition and nurturing. Special needs children are more likely to be abandoned because parents can not afford to care for them.
